About A/Prof Angus Thompson CF

Angus commenced practicing general cardiology and cardiac imaging at Advara HeartCare Hervey Bay in February 2019 and previously practiced with Advara HeartCare in Western Australia. He undertook residency and advanced cardiology training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Western Australia. Angus undertook further specialty training at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Qld completing his fellowship in cardiology from the RACP specialising in echocardiography. 

He was then appointed Staff Cardiologist at Ipswich Hospital, Queensland and Senior Lecturer in Medicine, UQ. There he ran the heart failure clinic and undertook further graduate studies and research in echocardiography and ultrasound in critical care. He completed a cardiac imaging fellowship in cardiac CT and MRI at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC where he became Board Certified in Cardiac CT. 

Subsequently Angus was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in heart failure, visiting numerous centres of excellence in the USA and UK. He was a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine and Pharmacology, UWA and Consultant Cardiologist at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. 

Angus previously consulted at the Mount in Western Australia and co-reported Cardiac CT angiograms with Perth Radiological Clinic at Mount, Subiaco, Joondalup and Murdoch.
