Special clinical interest in heart rhythm disorders and their treatment.
Associate Professor Michael Kilborn is an experienced cardiologist with a particular interest and specialism in cardiac arrhythmias. Michael is a highly skilled specialist in the use of complex electrical testing, catheter ablation, implantable defibrillators and pacemakers, implantable loop recorders, external defibrillators, and medications. He performs these procedures at the Mater Hospital in North Sydney.
He teaches medical students at the University of Sydney, junior doctors at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and has a particular interest in cardiac arrhythmias, palpitations, syncope, atrial fibrillation, and the prevention of stroke and of sudden death due to cardiac arrest.
A former Rhodes Scholar and Commonwealth Medical Scholar, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts in the area of cardiac electrophysiology and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Cardiology Today journal and of the CardioNexus Clinical Advisory Board.
