About Dr Alana Harris

Dr Alana Harris practises as a cardiologist with expertise in heart rhythm management. 

She is a graduate of the University of Queensland and holds fellowships in Cardiology with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and a member of Heart Rhythm Society and the European Heart Rhythm Association. 

Dr Harris started the first cardiac electrophysiology service and pacemaker clinics on the Sunshine Coast in 2005 after completing a Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Ottawa.  She has undertaken further training in the cryoablation of atrial fibrillation and initiated this service at Buderim Private Hospital in 2015. 

Her clinical interests include the management of atrial fibrillation, syncope, device implantation and other aspects of heart rhythm management. Other clinical interests include implantable cardiac defibrillators, implantable loop recorders, pacemakers and electrophysiological studies. Dr Harris also holds a public appointment at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
