About Dr David Grout
Dr David Grout is an interventional cardiologist. After studying medicine at the University of Sydney in 1971, Dr Grout went on to complete his fellowship in cardiology in Southampton, UK and at the Royal Perth Hospital. Dr Grout has since practised both publicly and privately throughout Sydney including at his own established private practice on Sydney’s northern beaches.
Throughout this period, his special interest was coronary angiography and interventional cardiology. He performed the first coronary angioplasty in Sydney and was one of the earliest cardiologists in Australia to offer coronary angioplasty as an alternative to coronary artery bypass surgery. Dr Grout was also a founding director of Sydney Heart Image, where he was instrumental in setting up Australia’s first multi slice high-speed gated coronary and cardiac CT scanner for early diagnosis of coronary artery disease.
Dr David Grout joined Advara HeartCare in November 2017.
