About Dr Jonathan Teoh
Dr Jonathan Teoh is a Cardiologist with a keen interest in general cardiology, chest pain syndromes and ischaemic heart disease, atrial fibrillation, complex valvular disease (e.g. mitral regurgitation and aortic stenosis), and heart failure/cardiomyopathies. His subspecialty is Clinical Echocardiography, and he is an expert in the echocardiographic assessment of structural heart disease, stress echocardiography, and the performance of transoesophageal echocardiograms (TOEs).
Dr Teoh completed his original medical training (MBBS) in 2003 at The University of Western Australia and undertook his basic physician training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He subsequently completed Cardiology Advanced Training at Sir Charles Gairdner and Fremantle Hospitals, followed by a six-month Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
Dr Teoh then travelled to Boston to complete a two-year fellowship as a Clinical and Research Fellow in Advanced Echocardiography at the renowned Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medical School. He later returned to Australia to take up a position as a Consultant Cardiologist at Joondalup Health Campus, where he currently serves as Director of Echocardiography. He also holds an adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer position at The University of Western Australia, School of Medicine, and remains actively involved in academic research.
