About Dr Muthanna Abdul Halim

Dr Halim is a cardiologist with specialised interests in valvular heart disease, coronary and structural interventions, atherosclerosis, and hypertension. He undertook his advanced cardiology training at The Prince Charles Hospital, a leading quaternary cardiology referral centre in Queensland. Dr Halim furthered his expertise by completing an interventional cardiology fellowship at Townsville University Hospital.

His commitment to improving cardiovascular outcomes extends to remote and rural health, shaped by two formative years of training with the Indigenous Cardiac Outreach Program at The Prince Charles Hospital. He worked closely with Indigenous communities, addressing unique health challenges and disparities in cardiovascular care.

He is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland, where he contributes to the education and training of future medical professionals. He is also pursuing a PhD at the University of Queensland, focusing on the role of mineralocorticoid receptors in cardiometabolic health and inflammation.

In addition to his clinical and academic roles Dr Halim has been actively involved in numerous international clinical trials. He has also presented his work at prominent international conferences and meetings.

Dr Halim speaks English and Malay.
