Dr Nazar Bilgrami

Dr Nazar Bilgrami is a CTCA accredited specialist with extensive experience in Cardiac CT imaging (CTCA and CAC). He is part of the Advara HeartCare CTCA team, providing streamlined cardiac care services in Melbourne. 

Special clinical interest in general cardiology, heart failure, arrhythmias, cardiac imaging & cardio-oncology. 

About Dr Nazar Bilgrami

Dr Bilgrami is an overseas trained cardiologist with extensive clinical, administrative and research experience.  His interests include heart failure, cardiac arrythmias and cardiac imaging. He also provides a Cardio-Oncology service. 

Having obtained his basic medical training in India, Dr Bilgrami received certification in clinical cardiology from Royal Post Graduate Institute, London in UK. In 1997 he obtained interventional and electrophysiology training through fellowship at Flinders’ Medical Centre, Adelaide in Australia. He has been accredited to perform Cardiac CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA) by several international bodies including Australian Conjoint Committee, BSCCT (UK) and SCCT (USA). 

Dr Bilgrami has over 35 years’ experience managing cardiology patients with both simple and complex problems. Prior to moving to Australia in 2019 he performed device implants and several electrophysiology procedures. He has worked in various parts of the world including India, Middle East and Brunei Darussalam. Research and education has remained a focus for him during his illustrious career. He has published many papers in reputed cardiology journals and given innumerable lectures. 

Dr Bilgrami is also associated with teaching at the University of Melbourne and is affiliated with Austin Hospital as Honorary Cardiologist.
