About Dr

Dr Rafeeq Samie is an Electrophysiologist. Rafeeq did his undergraduate medical training at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital. He then spent a year in London, working in emergency medicine at King’s College Hospital. In 1997, he moved to Perth and subsequently trained in cardiology at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He then spent 2 years at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, training in all aspects of cardiac electrophysiology, including gaining experience with remote magnetic navigation.

He returned to Perth in 2007, joined Advara HeartCare and in addition to general cardiology, provides subspecialty electrophysiology expertise to the practice. He also has an appointment at Fiona Stanley Hospital as a consultant Cardiologist/Electrophysiologist. Specialities include pacemakers, electrophysiology studies, defibrillators, complex ablations, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, coronary angiography, left atrial appendage occlusion.
