Dr Ronen Gurvitch

Dr Ronen Gurvitch is a Structural & Interventional Cardiologist who completed his medical training at the University of Melbourne, followed by specialist cardiology and interventional cardiology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

After winning the inaugural CSANZ Travelling Fellowship Award, he completed two years of subspecialized training in Vancouver, Canada, with Professor John Webb, a pioneer in percutaneous heart valve technologies. He then established the percutaneous heart valve replacement program at Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2011.

Dr Gurvitch has specific expertise in structural heart disease intervention and is recognised internationally for his work in the field of transcatheter valve interventions.

He has led the Melbourne Health transcatheter valve implantation program since 2011 and is actively involved in proctoring and teaching other cardiologists, setting up their own percutaneous valve replacement programs both nationally and overseas.

Dr Gurvitch consults for Advara HeartCare at Doncaster East and performs procedures at Knox Private and Melbourne Private Hospitals.
