About Dr Stephen V Cox

Dr Stephen Cox is an interventional cardiologist with special clinical interests in structural heart disease, angioplasty and stenting and invasive cardiac imaging. He completed his cardiology training in Brisbane and spent two years in Boston, USA, at the Lahey Clinic. There he developed his interventional cardiology skills before returning to Advara HeartCare. His interests include the care and treatment of acute coronary syndrome patients, as well as structural heart disease. 

Dr Cox’s cardiac catheterisation skills include acute infarct angioplasty and elective stenting, as well as the treatment of structural heart defects using closure devices (ie PFO/ASD/VSD and post-surgery paravalvular leaks). Dr Cox is a member of the structural heart team at the Wesley and Princess Alexandra Hospitals in Brisbane.

He consults at The Wesley Hospital and Clayfield in Brisbane, and visits the outreach clinic at Kingaroy. Dr Cox is a senior Visiting Medical Officer and Clinical Director of the Cath Lab at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
