About Dr Sumit Mehra
Dr Sumit Mehra is a Sleep and Respiratory Physician who completed his medical degree in King George Medical University, India. He moved to Australia in 2012 and completed his respiratory training at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide.
Sumit has comprehensive experiences and training in wide facets of lung disorders including asthma, ILD, bronchiectasis, respiratory infections and pulmonary embolism. He also completed additional Fellowship in Sleep medicine and Pulmonary physiology at West Australian Sleep Disorders and Research Institute, Perth; Fellowship in Lung cancers and Pleural diseases at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide; in Sleep medicine at Sleep centres of Western New York, USA and in Asthma and Allergy training at Bolnisnica Golnik, Europe.
He is an award winning researcher with more than 40 publications and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member to major international respiratory and sleep journals. He has a public hospital appointment with Joondalup Health Campus, and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He is also a clinician researcher with University of Western Australia (UWA).
Sumit offers a range of services, including diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, EBUS, comprehensive inpatient and home-based sleep studies, implementation of positive airway pressure therapy and full range of lung function testing modalities.
