About Prof. Jenny Deague
Clinical Professor Jenny Deague is a cardiologist providing comprehensive, patient-centred care with particular expertise in echocardiography, diastolic function, and the assessment of cardiac structure and function.
Professor Deague graduated in medicine from the University of Melbourne in 1990 and completed her physician and cardiology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and went on to complete a PhD in 2000 focused on cardiac structure, diastolic function and haemodynamics. She subsequently undertook advanced training in echocardiography, including international fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University in Boston, USA.
She has extensive experience in clinical cardiology and previously served as Director of Cardiology at Joondalup Health Campus, where she led the development of cardiology services, including echocardiography and cardiac catheterisation. In addition to her clinical work, she has made significant contributions to medical education and has received recognition for excellence in teaching from the University of Western Australia. Professor Deague has also contributed to cardiovascular health at a national level through her involvement with the Heart Foundation, including serving as Chair of the Heart Health Committee.
