About Dr John Cotroneo
Dr John Cotroneo is a Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist. After completing general cardiology fellowship at Austin Health in Melbourne, Dr Cotroneo undertook two years of dedicated specialty training in echocardiology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation – the number 1 hospital in the USA for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery for 28 consecutive years. Whilst there, Dr Cotroneo gained proficiency in techniques such as echocardiography, trans-oesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography.
Training was formally completed in 2005 on passing the board examinations in echocardiology with admission to Fellowship of the American Society of Echocardiography. Dr Cotroneo continues however to update his skills and knowledge through attendance at conferences, peer meetings and workshops. Dr Cotroneo is also engaged as a consulting cardiologist at Austin Health and speaks fluent Italian.
