Blood Pressure Monitoring
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring records your blood pressure at regular intervals as you go about your usual daily activities, giving your doctor a clearer picture of your blood pressure over time.
What is ambulatory blood pressure monitoring?
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) uses a portable device to measure your blood pressure at regular intervals over an extended period while you go about your usual daily activities.
If you have suspected high blood pressure (hypertension) or your high blood pressure is difficult to manage with medication, ABPM will provide your doctor with more detailed information about what’s happening. Some people have higher blood pressure readings during a medical appointment. ABPM monitors your blood pressure throughout your usual daily activities, giving your doctor a clearer picture of how it changes over time.
